But Hamilton, who grew up in New Zealand and now works on Ken Block's outrageous Hoonigan gymkhana machines in the U.S., has a soft spot for raucous American muscle. And when he set out to build a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, he combined the best of both worlds.
So this old-school Smokey and the Bandit Pontiac now rocks a twin-turbo, fuel injected 5.3-liter V8 and a six-speed manual. Hamilton doesn't know exact numbers, but says it's about as fast as abrand-new Corvette Z06.
Our pals at Petrolicious have a great profile of Hamilton and his bad-to-the-max Trans Am. As always, it's a gorgeous look into the mind of this man and his amazing machine. Enjoy.
