World's first manned aerobatic drone shown pulling loops and rolls.

3/27/2020

Picture
This racy-looking 12-rotor coaxial multicopter has been filmed in Croatia pulling extreme rolls and loops, and carrying a human on board. Not at the same time, mind you, but still, to see a drone of this size pulling stunts like this is astonishing.
Built by Drone Champions AG, in order to promote its Drone Champions League video game, this is a full-sized, full carbon airframe with six arms extending outwards from an aerodynamically faired chassis, each with a pair of coaxial rotors mounted at the ends. A central seat can carry a passenger – not a pilot, as this drone is built to be flown from the ground by trained drone racing pilots over remote control.
The team took the "Big Drone," as it's called, to Vrsar, in Croatia, to put it through some extreme maneuvers, and a Red Bull detachment followed to film and photograph the event. With a dummy passenger on board, the team performed a bunch of wild aerobatic maneuvers, including extravagant rolls and loops, the likes of which we've never seen in a multicopter this large.

"We have developed and built the first-ever manned aerobatic drone with the vision to create a brand-new future racing experience and to recruit drone pilots through DCL – The Game," says Drone Champions founder and CEO, Herbert Weirather. "Everyone should have the opportunity to fly, and DCL – The Game provides a starting point."
There's no word as yet on whether the team plans to do manned aerobatic flights, and we suspect it'll remain that way for a while. But it's clear the machines can do it, leaving just the safety considerations to be taken care of.

These 2 wingsuit flyers just BASE jumped into a plane in mid-air

Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet have just completed an incredible stunt that saw them fly into the cabin of a plane as it flew over the Swiss Alps. Watch the video and find out how they did it right here.

he sport of wingsuit flying has been taken to the next level by Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, who are two BASE-jumping experts from France known as the Soul Flyers. Their latest project is called A Door In The Sky and saw them BASE jump from the one of Europe’s highest peaks and into a plane while it was flying at altitude.
Click on the video above to see the duo launch themselves off the summit of the Jungfrau mountain in the Bernese Alps before landing in the tiny cabin of Pilatus Porter light aircraft in mid-air.

Hydrofoiler XE-1 – This innovative bike lets you ride on water

11/21/2017

Picture
Here is the Hydrofoiler XE-1, an innovative gadget that combines electric bike and hydrofoil to let you ride on water! Because cycling on the mainland is so outdated, this bike is equipped with an electric motor and fins that allow it to stay on the surface, allowing you to ride freely on lakes, rivers or the oceans.
Designed by New Zealand-based company Manta5, the Hydrofoiler XE-1 is apparently easy to use, and can even be restarted in the middle of the water after a fall. No price has yet been announced, but this aquatic bike should be launched before the end of the year. See also the Lift eFoil, an electric surfboard to fly over the water.

Is this the greatest skydiving/swoop landing ever?

Not sure how he flies with balls that heavy, but he landed and timed it perfectly. We're impressed.

Cops in Dubai Are Getting Real, Very Dangerous Looking Hoverbikes

10/15/2017

Picture
Police in Dubai may soon have access to functional hoverbikes, according to AutoBlog, which reported the Dubai Police unveiled the new technology in conjunction with Russian company Hoversurf at the Gulf Information Technology Exposition last week. Per Autoblog, the Scorpion hoverbike is capable of flying approximately 16 feet (five meters) in the air, moving at a speed of 43 miles per hour (70 kilometers per hour) and carrying 660 pounds (300 kilograms) of gear. It’s thus capable of clearing traffic-packed roads, but one serious drawback is the unit’s limited, 25 minute charge capacity. The Scorpion’s rotor blades also look ready to chop through anything it might bump into, like humans, and sort of looks like it is as dangerous for the operator to fly as for anyone who might wander into its path.
The police force intends to use the hoverbikes as tools for officers to bypass traffic and other obstacles during emergencies, though the United Arab Emirates has a notoriously poor human rights record, so authorities there may put them to somewhat less agreeable purposes.
The US military, as well as various specialty shops and hobbyists, have had varying degrees of success working on their own hoverbikes. Most of them look alarmingly dangerous, but hey—as the saying goes, you can’t make a hoverbike without amputating a few limbs.
CNN reported that the hoverbikes were also announced alongside a new electric motorcycle concept by the Japanese company Mikasa, which was touted as having a 124 mph (200 km/h) top speed. According to ABC, Dubai authorities are also planning on rolling out small, driverless vehicles for surveillance in urban areas.

This Man Rode a Rocket Bicycle 207 MPH

9/20/2017

Picture
When you think of fast rides, bicycles usually don't spring to mind, at least not before souped-up race cars and sleek motorcycles. Watching Francois Gissy speed over 207 miles per hour on a bicycle with a rocket strapped to it may change that.
Gissy rode the bike at the Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France last Friday, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a serious case of windburn now. Gissy has been riding these stripped down and powered up bikes for years, and this time he's broken his own record. Swiss company Exotic Thermal Engineering builds the rockets Gissy uses to propel his bike.
It took Gissy less than 5 seconds to go from 0 to 207 miles per hour. This is the world record for fastest biking, which isn't super surprising considering the whole rocket thing. Impressive nevertheless.

The Giro Boat is the stuff you dream't of as a kid.

8/11/2017

Picture
Designed and sold in the early 1960's. It was towed behind a boat, at a speed of 20mph+ for the Giro Boat to achieve lift. This looks both awesome and very sketchy at the same time. That's why we like it. There were no pansays in the 1960's. Just shear design guru's coming out with contraptions such as this that define awesome.

If you see a dude on a jet ski with a full face helmet, keep your eye on him because there is a high chance of radness. Also a fan of the dude below who goes with the Cascade lax helmet to protect his noggin while throwing doubles:

WORLDS FASTEST Turbine Powered Jet Boat Flips Over Backwards

7/25/2017

Picture
In this one, we check out what claims to be the world’s fastest turbine powered jet boat as it’s tearing around the water with a few other boats when things escalate out of control quickly!
This seems to be a normal ride, but when one of the boats cuts off another, the boat being cut off catches an edge of the water and goes flying, does a backflip, and crashes down hard!
Check out the video below and let us know what you think of the situation. If we were the ones that crashed, we would probably have a few choice words for the boat that cut us off.
